Vasant Panchami (Nepali: वसन्त पञ्चमी Hindi: वसन्त पञ्चमी), sometimes referred to as Saraswati Puja (Bengali language:সরস০বতী পূজা), Shree Panchami, or the Basant Festival of Kites is a Sikh and Hindu festival held on the fifth day of Magha (in early February) marking the start of spring and the Holi season. On this day Hindus worship Saraswati Devi, the goddess of knowledge, music, art and culture. Vasant Panchami is a celebration of spring celebrated with puja of Sarsvati Devi ji. Everyone wears yellow. Banaras Hindu University was founded by Shri Madan Mohan Malviya ji on Vasant Panchami. Everyone and all BHU/IIT Students are invited to attend. Potluck dishes welcome.
All Puja Coordinators (JSC, Jain, Sai Baba, Kartikeya, Suprabhatam Chauki, Rudra Abhishek) are requested to attend to learn financial status and discuss any items they wish to discuss. Also everyone is invited to attend Monthly Meeting and get involved in improving the oldest non profit public Mandir (established October 2004) in Irvine area. Your Seva (Volunteer) help is needed. Agenda will include Improvements, Monthly Financial Report, Funds Raising, Building Purchase Plans, Volunteer Help. Your input and comments are welcome at the meeting.
